Mumbai Dwell Competition. Urban Planger
Design team: Nataly Nemkova and Shreya Save for Urban Planger
Seven islands that thrive as one, Mumbai is a true metropolitan. Here within resides the Koli community of fisher men and the Millennials. Today the city is drowning in monsoon floods and its own sewage. This project proposes an approach not just in planning but in re-imagining the reclamation process of the islands to generate flood safe residential zones for the the two demographics to co-exist while connecting the city with a continuous green belt. In the process, the idea of waste management and fishing had also been addressed to support the community well being.
